Bio And Disclaimer

Bio
I was born in the same week that Men At Work's Down Under was number 1 in the BillboardTM charts. I answer to a number of names including DuFess, Legolas, New Friend, Anti-Social, Larry, and Bono. I'm a sophomore in college living on campus (which I'm not thrilled about) and majoring in audio engineering (which I absolutely love). For the most part I would rather spend three hours studying quantum physics than spend one hour at your typical dorm party and would rather light my arm on fire than hang around with drunk people for any length of time. Hence the 'Anti-Social' nickname. I have a part time job as a merchandiser at the local Best Buy which, apart from the 5 and 3 am mornings, I enjoy but would not want to do for the rest of my life.

If I'm not in class, at work,or in the studio, I can most often be found sitting in my "Corner" - as it's been dubbed by my friends - listening to music, studying, playing my guitar, or some combination of the three. For music I'll listen to anything except rap, country, and pop, and even each of those genres has some stuff that I like. Check out my CD collection to get a better idea. It's only about 10% of the CDs I want to own, but it is a fairly accurate representation of the range of what/who I like. My favorite band by far is U2 (if you couldn't tell by the massive chunk of the CD collection that they dominate), but other notable mentions include the Stereophonics, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Hank Decken, Peter Gabriel, and of course my newest discovery, Rush.

One of my goals in life is to figure out exactly what America's song A Horse With No Name is actually about, because I'm convinced that there's some sort of deep allegorical meaning behind it.

I have two parents and one brother (older, in the Air Force), two cats and one dog (Husky/Shepherd). And a turtle.

I never drink alcohol nor do I smoke anything.

It wouldn't bother me in the slightest if every television on the planet suddenly disappeared.

I don't swing my right arm when I walk unless I'm carrying something in my left hand.

I'm a t-shirt-and-jeans person and consider a polo shirt and khakis "formal wear."

I use Adidas deodorant and wear size 11 New Balance sneakers.

Disclaimer
I'm one of the least politically correct people I know. I am of the belief that society's obsession with PCness does nothing but take attention away from the real problem, and though I am a tomboy I am by no means a feminist. Few things bother me more than the whole "he or she" deal. Just say HE! *ahem* Therefore I commonly use the male pronoun when referring to both genders. I will also occassionally use the term "guys" when referring to "people."

I always proofread every entry after posting it, but often times posting the entry is the last thing I do before going to bed so I'm usually pretty tired and occassionally miss a typo. I apologize now for anytime that happens and hope that any mistakes are legible enough for the intended meaning to be understood.

Though I don't drink myself, almost everyone I know does, therefore there will probably be numerous references to drunk people which may not be suitable for young children and/or alcoholics. Reader discretion is advised.

I do try to keep this on the humorous side but am possibly the world's worst humorous writer, so bear that in mind. Some entries are funnier than others but all are intended to be taken lightly and with a grin.
